I do not agree with the big way of doing things. To us what matters is an individual. Every person is Christ for me, and since there is only one Jesus, that person is only one person in the world for me at that moment.

High school mission days

December 21st & 22nd

Cost: $50

Deadline to Register: December 17th

As you may have noticed, we are not going to Jenkins, Kentucky this year for a Winter mission trip. There are several reasons for that decision, but the main one is that there is so much need locally among our neighbors, parishioners, and in the city of Columbus.

This year we will have a variety of local opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters who are in need. Here’s a little taste of some of the projects we are lining up for these two days:

  • A DEEP CLEAN of Holy Family Soup Kitchen

  • Visiting our local nursing homes and assisted living facilities

  • Street evangelization at Easton, Walmart, etc.

  • Putting together pre-prepared meals to be given to a local family in need

  • Simply spending time with the children of a family in need

  • Various home improvement projects for local families in need

  • Various yard projects for local families in need

  • Christmas caroling in the neighborhood

  • Helping at the Christmas Tree sale

FAQ

Do we stay the night?

  • Yes. We will be sleeping in the lower level of the Church. Boys and girls will be separated in different rooms.

What does my registration fee cover?

  • It covers the food for our meals and supplies for all of our projects.

Can I bring my cell phone?

  • We would prefer that you didn’t. Since we are staying local, leaving your phone at home for two days will help you to be more present to those whom we serve, and to be on retreat for a couple days.

Am I allowed to leave campus?

  • No, except for the projects you’re participating in.

What should I bring?

  • Clothes for Saturday (you may be working outside, so you get the idea)

  • Bedding (sleeping bag, pillow, air mattresses are welcome)

  • Minimal toiletries (we won’t have access to a shower, just teeth brushing, deodorant, etc.)

  • Again, we are asking you to leave your cell phone at home for just two days, so please do not bring it.

What The Parents Need to Know:

  • There will be at least a 6 to 1 ratio of students to adults

  • Drivers of vehicles will all be over 25 years of age

  • Adult chaperones will be in compliance with Diocesan Requirements
